Yesterday morning may have been the first time seeing (and tasting) the ocean for some of the kids. About 60 students, teachers, employees, and guests packed like sardines into the pick-up and the canter and were off to Wahoo Beach. It was an educational experience, looking at the different fish and conch shells, but also just a bit of fun. Some of the older boys played soccer using makeshift goals composed of shoes stuck toe down in the sand, while the older girls giggled and joked amongst themselves. A couple of kids enjoyed posing and taking pictures of the nearby boats with my camera.
The cutest thing, however, was watching the little kids interact with la mer (ocean). A line of 15 or 20 of them would crouch at the water's edge, dip their hands in the water, and scoop it into their mouths. Then, when the tide came in a little too close for comfort, they would scuttle back from it, before the water dampened their shoes, and giggle. It was adorable.
Gerline also had a good time on her second visit to the ocean. She had fun molding and flinging the sand (but not walking in it), standing in the water, and looking at the fish.
After a time of playing by the water and eating the lunch they had brought along, everyone went back to school to finish up the day's classes.

Sounds like a wonderful day! I am sure it was fun watching the children's reactions. Wish we could have been there with all of you! We miss everyone in LaDigue, especialy all of our friends at Lifeline. Love, Deana & the Brooks Boys
Bless you for taking all the kids to see some of God's beauty (the ocean) I'm sure they will never forget it. Love, mom
Yes what a wonderful educational experience for the children, especially the first time goers. Was this an end of the school season trip? Glad it didn't rain like the singing in the rain blog. I believe that was the title and well written by the Brooks son. Is that a picture of Noah with the young lady pictured? The hat hid him,but the skin was lighter and I thought it resembled him standing with that bashfullness. Waiting to read more news, blogs, pictures whatever. Keep them coming. God Bless everyone.
